Hi,
I finally found some time to answer you back about that song from The Daktaris. I don’t know that much about the original artists of the song except that they’re called The Wallias band and that the band was formed in the 70’s by Mulatu Astatqé. I wrote on my blog that they still perform today but I’m no longer sure about that after a quick check on the net. What I did found was the original compilation from the mid 90’s on Munich Records that introduced me to this music.
